I was born into a furniture making family in vermont , they were from the old world, old school. My uncle Francis "Bud"
Carpenter is a world renowned clock maker/woodworker who studied in the black forest of germany . He has the family history
book dating from 1612 , when our ancestor, as an irish indentured servant became the town carpenter of London, hence the family
name (my momma's side) Carpenter...As a child it became evident quickly that in my training i could'nt cut a straight line
to save my life, but i could hide my mistakes quite well ... with artwork and finishes. I was ,and am, in love with the look
and feel of wood and the natural artwork that God provides in graining and colors and texture. After years of studying
and becoming a starving artist in the 60's, i mixed my woodworking heritage and my art training and have endeavored to make
"wood look good" as a business ever since..
